Installation

Install the temp alert bolt in the side fill plug hole (or the dedicated alert port) of the hub cap and torque to 12–14 ft.lbs. When used with bolt kit BK003 (spring washers), torque to 12–16 ft.lbs.

Working Principle

The 8.8 grade zinc plated bolt carries a spring loaded indicator held by fusible alloy. When hub temperature reaches the preset threshold (250°F / 120°C standard), the fusible alloy melts and the red indicator pops out — a clear visual warning to stop and check the wheel end before costly damage occurs. The Nylok coating prevents the bolt from loosening under vibration.
